Disabilities:
My plan to improve the quality of life for Wyndham residents, is to provide funding for groups and individuals with a disability, which fits in with my campaign for fair and more inclusive community. As well as equalizing opportunities for all Wyndham citizens. They need to be given opportunities to succeed.
''We must come together as a community free of unnecessary barriers, stereotypes, and discrimination. Policies must be developed, attitudes must be changed, and our community must be designed to ensure that everyone has a chance to get the education they need and live independently as full citizens in their communities."
Education:
Education has been the vehicle for social and economic mobility, giving hope and opportunity to millions of young people. Our schools must prepare students not only to meet the demands of the global economy, but also help students take their place as committed and engaged citizens. It must ensure that all students have a quality education regardless of race, class, or background.
"Mohammed Isah is committed to strengthening Wyndham public schools. I believe that council should equip poor and struggling districts with the support and resources to provide disadvantaged students with an opportunity to reach their full potential by promoting funding as well as demanding more accountability".
Road Safety:
Improving road safety and street lights on major roads. The up grading of local and state government roads.
Family:
Support families in raising their children and keep communities together. By eliminating the difficulties parents face and provide tools to help them succeed.
Migrants and Refugees:
Provide and promote awareness on difficulties that newly arrived migrants and refugees face and allocate support to enable a successful integration to society and become Australians.
Youth:
To give voice to young people and increase the youth demographic in the Wyndham area and allocate appropriate support to deal with youth issues; and provide funding for youth programs and resources to help them.
Parks and recreation:
Allocate funding for parks, recreation centers and major sporting facilities in the Truganina Ward.
Child Care:
More funding for public child care centers and facilities.
Age Care:
promote further resourcing and funding for people on aged care pensions.
Employment:
Increasing local employment in the community and provide awareness to this issue.
Graffiti:
Proactively address the graffiti problem in Wyndham, by encouraging public education aimed at empowering the community to take action to prevent graffiti occurring and to heighten public awareness.
“I believe that council need to have policies in place to provide assistance, education or guidance to private property owners who are victims of graffiti, focusing on education at primary school children aimed at cutting out the problem at its source. These programs instill in the participant a sense of ownership and pride in their community. A comprehensive graffiti policy should include a combination of removal, education and prevention strategies in order to tackle graffiti both in the long-term and short-term”
